A few days ago, the pre-sale of the new digital blockchain stamp began.

The crypto stamp is the first stamp that also exists as a digital collector's item in the blockchain. It consists of two elements: On the one hand, there is the physical stamp, which can be used as a normal postage stamp. On the other side - namely the back of the stamp - you will find the access to the digital "wallet" under a security label.

The new Crypto stamp costs € 7 and is available with four different animal motifs: honey badger, panda, llama, doge. Each motif is available in an edition of 60,000 pieces, which makes the Total edition limited to 240,000 pieces.

Last year, the edition of the stamps was limited to 150,000 pieces and sold out after a few days. Afterwards, the Crypto stamp, which originally cost € 6.90, was traded for up to € 10,000 in some cases.
It is quite possible that the rush and also the price development will be similar this year.

This year the Sale on three levels divided:

At Presale could only be done online with the Blockchain currency Ether the stamps were limited to 2,500 pieces per model and sold out within 24 hours (and are already being traded for 4-10 times their original price of € 7 on various exchanges)
This will be followed by regular advance sales at the Online shop of Austrian Post until 10 June 2020.
And finally, from 25 June in the Post offices direct.

What is the "crypto stamp" actually about?

The Biefmarke is a cardboard card equipped with Adhesive surface, scratch field, Personalisation, Coding, security label and QR code and can be ordered as a regular stamp, but also as a digital collector's item via the Ethereum Blockchain be used. The QR code printed on the stamp leads to a digital "Wallet", which contains the digital version of the stamp.

Unlike the previous Crypto stamp, this time the stamp is integrated into the cardboard card and not a part of the card that has to be completely detached.

Card and packaging consist of FSC certified cardboard and prove that our cardboard cards are in no way inferior to conventional plastic cards. As you can see here, all finishing techniques are also possible with cardboard cards and the ISO thickness of 0.8mm was also adhered to.
Pretty much all the techniques that make a printer's heart beat faster were used in the production: Offset printing, digital printing, screen printing, foil stamping, thermal transfer printing, cellophaning, etc.

The blockchain stamp is absolutely forgery-proof and a value-enhancing unique piece. The technology behind the stamp makes it popular not only with long-time stamp collectors, but also with cryptocurrency users and the young technology-savvy public.
